In this crazy world where we’re seen as the crazy ones (which we’re not), how do we find ourselves amongst the crowd?
That’s why we went searching for a fresh symbol that was gentle, yet powerful.
The Blue Bee symbol is based on the native Blue Banded Bee and Melissa Hogan came up with the idea.
The Blue Banded Bee is unique because it

• Doesn’t live in a hive.
  Doesn’t follow a queen.
  Yet still pollinates flowers.

This means it wants to be a productive part of society, but it also wants to be free.

Sound familiar?

The beauty behind the Blue Bee is that it is a communal idea.

Michael floated the concept that we need a new symbol that wasn’t religious-based, for we had lots of people who wouldn’t touch 8:32 because it was from the bible.

Then Melissa Hogan suggested the Blue Banded Australian Bee.

Following that, Margie McKenzie designed the bands and gave us several hundred for fundraising to keep Cafe Locked Out free to air for our community. We thank everyone who continues to work with and support us and our community as a whole – together is the only way we can all thrive
